Artist Frank Morbillo recently welcomed us to his Tesuque, New Mexico, studio and we produced a fascinating short film in our video series spotlighting Sculpturesite Gallery artists: Inside the Sculptor's Studio.
Click the video screen above to watch Frank Morbillo at work and get more insight into his background and process. Watch as he works on several of the sculptures now in the show at various stages of development: from curving the flat sheets of metal into the desired shapes, to welding the curved elements together to form three dimensional forms, and finally, expertly applying a beautifully layered patina to a small bronze. This is an incredible chance to see first-hand how some of your favorite sculptures are made!
The video was produced by Sculpturesite Gallery and edited by Scott Saraceno.
Please scroll through to view the entire online exhibition catalogue after you watch the video, and visit Sculpturesite in Glen Ellen to see several of these pieces in person. Call or email the Gallery for more information about any of the work shown.
